On offer is a fascinating original 1969 manuscript diary and relic of one man's time as US Navy Vietnam War Seabees engineering contractor. Handwritten by J. Henry Schindler Jr., of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in meticulous detail from the moment the job starts. Every fact is recorded, contacts, CO's, phone numbers, admonitions about the tap water, maps, weather, issued flak jacket, boots, helmet, rifle, etc. He also mentions several skirmishes between the Viet-Cong that took place while he was there and much more making for a super comprehensive picture of his 22 days in Vietnam out of his 30 day contract. He was paid $100 per day plus expenses to do blasting work at a quarry in South Vietnam. All told there are about 50 pages with entries in the 4 x 6 inch notebook. Overall G+.
