On offer is a fascinating, historic, political four [4] page manuscript letter handwritten by David Christie, a founding member of the Clear Grit movement and member of the Canadian Parliament to an unknown recipient. Dated Quebec 21st May 1855 the letter details Mr. Christie's ongoing frustration with the corruptive state of Parliament during those times. Mr. Christie went on to become the Secretary of State of Canada from 1873 - 1874 and then the Speaker of the Canadian Senate from 1874 - 1878. Overall the letter is VG save for a very small split in the central fold.
