On offer is a fascinating, original manuscript relic of mid 19th Century meteorological occurrence of note being a handwritten eyewitness account of what the Harvard College Observatory, Annals, Vol. 19 described as a "Parhelia of the usual form, but of remarkable brilliance." The account which includes a pen and ink drawing signed A.S. describes the observation which occurred in Brookline Massachusetts on April 2, 1859.
